This is the only hair color product I can use on my hair. All other hair color products cause significant reactions (swelling, tightness in the throat, skin blistering). This product also does not have a chemical smell and my hair does not smell after I use it. I am a faithful buyer of this product.

I am dangerously allergic to PPD and have found Aubrey Organics to be the best option for me. I have been using this hair color for years now and have been pleased with the results. I am surprised by the comments about hair turning green. My gray roots turn reddish. The next application, usually three weeks later, darkens the red highlights and it then matches my dark hair. (While any new gray becomes reddish, and the cycle repeats.) I could reapply the following day, as I've read other writers do, but it blends fine and can wait a few weeks. It is a time-consuming, messy process, but I feel it is worth it. Having used this for such a long time, I've gotten faster at application and more adept at the wash/rinse part of it. I have found that the shampoo and conditioner I use makes a world of difference in getting it all off. (L'Oreal EverPure Sulfate-free color care system Volume Shampoo and Volume Conditioner - found at Target - works great.)The conditioner is what really removes the "dirt". My hair feels thicker and better conditioned using this hair color. I'm so thankful to have this safe alternative to going gray.

First time user - long time suffer to allergic reactions from hair color. I am 5% white/grey hair gal. The rest is a dark brown. Cons: no funnel for the squeeze bottle, its time consuming and washing it out takes skill. Lots of kudos to the helpful husbands out there. Pros: no allergic reaction! Coverage is decent. The stray white hairs around my face where covered. The clump of white I have at the crown of my head...well, it went from white to a green brown. Not life shattering as it is the first time I've colored with the product. I will definitely try another application when the time comes to see if it makes a difference. And the smell isn't offensive. I need to tweak the time color needs to sit on my hair and how I'm going to wash it out..but otherwise than that, my hair is shiny, color is nice.

I'm highly allergic to the usual salon dye and wasn't getting the best results with my (if left to its own devices) grey hair. I called the company and followed their advice - adding coffee brewed with distilled water. It comes out fine now; really pretty color which looks like it has highlights. I'm so happy to find something I can use. Gives my hair excellent texture too, a plus for hair that's inclined to be frizzy.

Ladies, any experience with swimming and the chlorine in the pool? Does the chlorine turn the hair more green? Do you need to re-apply the color more often, and how much more more often, if you go swimming in a pool 2x/week?

This product is really good! I researched for two years before arriving here. Just want to leave some tips that helped the dye cover all my whites better (it didn't work so well when I didn't follow this): wash your hair on the day of the application, don't use conditioner (to keep the hair follicles open and more prone to absorb the dye), make the mixture a bit more on the runny side (it will help spreading it and also reaching/wetting every hair), apply to hair completely dry so it absorbs more of the mixture. I stay w/ it for 2 hours, but do the text strand and see if that works for you. The whites don't really get brown, but they turn into a dark moss green-ish color (it doesn't seem green, and it doesn't look strange, don't worry) that makes them blend very well w/ dark hair. I have only 5% of my hair white. This is the dye that works best for me, and I tried others and didn't work so well. The whites ended up bright yellow, or orange... It didn't hide them like Aubrey's.
